D.1: Monitoring and evaluation of project's performance, findings and outcomes
This action has been designed to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the project's concrete conservation actions compared to the conservation status of the target habitat prior the beginning, at the middle and end of the project's implementation. This action will lead to the quantification of the expected results during the project's running period, as well as 3 years after its implementation.
D.2: Assessment of socio-economic impact
This action deals with the evaluation of the socio-economic impact of the project's actions on the local economy and local people of the communities neighboring the targeted Natura 2000 site "KOILADA KEDRON-KAMPOS" (villages: Kampos, Tsakkistra, Panayia and Kykkos Monastery). This evaluation needs to be done, given that these communities have direct and indirect interests in the site, and are principally influenced by the targeted site of the Natura 2000 Network. The results from this action will contribute to the better understanding and documentation of the economic impact of the project in the local economy and society.
D.3: Assessment of impacts on ecosystem functions
The present action will identify and assess the project's impact on ecosystem functions in the targeted site. Ecosystem functions are related to the structural components of an ecosystem (e.g. vegetation, water, soil, atmosphere and biota) and how they interact with each other, within ecosystems and across ecosystems. Maintaining ecosystem function is important for maintaining the capacity of the region to supply ecosystem services. The outcome of the action may be a valuable resource for professionals and policy-makers in order to identify new approaches for natural and social development and management.
